The Luger just came in the mail yesterday so I have yet to shoot it but I'll post a range report soon.

It's a 1920 DWM Commercial with the usual Crown/N marks for the Kaiser & smokeless powder. There are no 'Germany' marks anywhere and the serial # is marked underneath the barrel. All the numbers match but I suspect the grips were replaced and the magazine is a repro, though it's a good one. The serial #82xxx dates it to about 1923 and is chambered in 7.65 or 30 Luger just like the original design with a 3 5/8" barrel. This one was bought online from an individual off Auction-Arms.

The price ? ........lot's of $$$ and it hurt but the condition was too good to pass up. Hint : It was a bit more than 1-oz of Gold.

On a side note - be careful when flipping the takedown lever above and foward of the trigger........I had the small side plate launched onto the floor and the whole gun comes apart.......ok, maybe not apart but the barrel/slide combo gets loose and I sat there wondering if I lost any parts. :confused_ma:

Anyhow, the ENGINEERING on the Luger is a Marvel in itself and it's built like a fine Swiss timepiece. Now, I know why Lugers are soooo popular.
I can't wait to punch some paper with it. :biggrin:

I have a 1916 Luger....most accurate centerfire pistol I own...and that includes $2000 1911 accurized for shooting 50 yards.

Mine is a tight girl - no slop anywhere.

They have a beautiful feel and point in the hand.

If you love pistols....you must have a P08 Luger.

Beautiful gun! Wish I had one. Probably the one gun involved in the most point blank head shots in history! I've been watching the "Hitler's Bodyguard" series on the Military Channel, very interesting!

Shot a Luger FA a long time ago- a mag goes fast that way... sweet gun - really a rush.

Have had all 3, Luger very nice but the broomhandle is the most fun I've ever had. You can keep the p38.

With pleasure! I find it a joy to shoot, very accurate. I never viewed it as a collector's item. To those that do own broomhandles or Lugers, do you shoot them often, considering their substantial value?

Didn't mean to disparage the p38, just enjoy a Luger or broomhandle much more. I shoot my broomhandle but not often enough, in fact all numbers match including the wood stock and belonged originally to my wifes grandfather, but in order to keep the peace with other inlaws I bought it outright. It is a commercial model 7.63
